Thank you to everyone who has remembered and supported Sgt. Alexander Dean while he has been serving a 12 month tour in Afghanistan.

Some of you had the chance to greet Alex after Sunday worship, in April while he enjoyed a few weeks home on deployment leave.

Since his return to Afghanistan, we had not heard from Alex until this past week. He has moved again, to another post, known in advance, but unable to tell us of these plans.

We do not know where he is, but he has reassured us he is doing okay.

Although Alex is not able to receive mail anymore, he thanks all of you for your kind support, the caring and sharing you have shown him and his comrades this past year.

On several occasions he's been convinced your prayers and God's guidance has helped him through a challenge, situation, or mission.

John & I are so grateful for the love we feel from all of you, our family at Holy Cross! God designs a network of support for each of us, and it is clear to me that you are all part of that!

Alex is now nearing the end of his 11th month of duty overseas; he is hoping to be sent back stateside in a few weeks, but has not heard anything definite yet.

Alex will still be active duty at Ft. Lewis, WA until his 4+year contract is over, later in October 2010.
At this point he has decided not to re-enlist. Numerous times throughout these 4 years he has reiterated he has never regretted going in the ARMY and truly feels that it was God's plan for him to serve in this capacity.

Alex' plans continue to change as he explores & researches many interests and options.
Curious to learn what the next chapter in his life will be - and where - we ask you to keep Alex and his future in your prayers.

God's will, God's way, God's timing - All Perfect - All to be Trusted!

Thank you!  ~ John & Jo Dean
