Mercy is a special gift God gives to certain members of the body of Christ to
compassionately and lovingly serve those who are physically or emotionally
suffering. Their ministry is clearly identified by deep emotional concern that
is evident to those being served.

Opportunities for Service:
Interfaith Hospitality Network
IHN is a major partner in our ministry of mercy here at Holy Cross. Each
calendar year, we are responsible for hosting families with minor children in
our community who need emergency shelter. The maximum number of people that can
be housed in our church is 14. The host church needs volunteers to provide
meals, serve as evening hosts, overnight hosts and van drivers. Each calendar
year we host families for a total of 4 weeks.
Partnership in Visitation Ministry
Please contact our Pastor with your willingness to partner in visitation of a
member or contact that needs a listening ear and the ministry of presence. Many
times in this visitation ministry, taking worship tapes and service bulletins is
greatly appreciated.
Dorothy Day House Meal Preparation and Service
The Dorothy Day House in Rochester is a mission to the homeless that find themselves in our community. Holy Cross serves the evening meal at the Dorothy Day house every 4th Friday of the month.
